Boston Trip
In the fall of 2017 I took a trip to Boston with my big bro and mom. To this day it is still one of my favorite memories with my mother and brother. If you have seen VeggieTales. You might know the Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. They sing a song titled “Never Been to Boston in the Fall.” I can’t sing that song, because I have been to Boston in the Fall. We walked a lot with stores and sites. We saw a lot of historical stuff, took some tours, hit up the zoo, and had a great time! Ate great food, laughed, played tons of Skipbo and made great memories. The crime show Rizzoli and Isles is based in Boston. I already enjoyed the show but enjoy it even more now. I would love to walk down memory lane with you and share about my trip in this blog.
We got to go to the Boston Aquarium while we waited for our whale tour. The aquarium was awesome! Got to see penguins,
sea turtles, different rays, and sharks. Did you know there are about 500 species of sharks? 80% are 4 feet long or less. We then headed out on a boat to look for whales and found them!!!
We found a comic book store with games and collectables. I found two shirts and still have them both.
We walked around a massive park and saw many statues. Samuel Adams and other famous figures from history.
While there we got to witness a parade. Throughout the historical areas of Boston they have a path of red brick. This is known as the Freedom Trail. You can follow the trail and see all the sites yourself or you can have a guided tour with someone in costume. We did both!!
We even got to see the headstone of Paul Revere and John Hancock.
We hung out at the zoo for a while and got to spend plenty of time with the apes. It was a well managed zoo and easy to navigate.
We left the zoo and ate at a place called Saus. They are a french fry restaurant and make all kinds of sauces for you to dip your fries into. I even started following them on instagram.
Got to tour the USS Constitution. It was an incredible ship with wonderful woodwork and craftsmanship.
One of the coolest things, was going to Fenway Park and watching the Red Sox play. My mom really enjoys baseball and it was cool to see the game with her and through her eyes. I got a Green Monster shirt that I still wear. I wear it so often you can barely tell it is a Fenway shirt.
The other coolest thing, still one of the best was seeing Converse headquarters and getting to watch custom Converse get made. At the date of this blog, I own 36 Converse. Two pair I bought in Boston. One collector’s edition Boston pair with the red line Freedom Trail on the bottom and my first non Chuck Taylor All Star called Converse Fast Breaks. Don’t worry, still got them in green.
It was a great trip, and I would love to head back to Boston one day. I think it would be super fun to take Morgan next time. All the history was fascinating!! If Boston is on your bucket list, stop putting it off and get there. You will not be disappointed.
This was so much fun to read and reminisce! I would also like to go back someday and take dad! Thanks for posting. It was a fun trip!
